Connection | Growth | Support

Yoga is Connection - "Yoga" is word that means "to yoke" in Sanskrit. It's about connection, whether focusing on your breath intentionally, your body in certain postures, co-regulation with others in a sense of community, or the present moment in mindfulness & meditation.
Reading is Connection - Reading can be a way of connecting with others, too. As readers, we connect with the ideas of authors across time and space and relate to their stories with our own lives. Reading also offers new verbiage for connecting with others around us in discussion, who might relate to a subject or offer new perspectives.
Reading is Meditation - Reading is also a way of practicing stillness with the body while exploring new ideas to support growth, similar to the intention of a meditation practice. Maybe, as in meditation, you notice your thoughts while you read, simply that they are there. You might choose to redirect your attention to the words you’re reading–gently, again, and again.
Reading is Yoga - Much like a yoga block might offer support to make a particular posture more accessible, reading might support your efforts to practice stillness or make a new perspective accessible to you or someone else during a challenging or transitional time.
